So, the Make in India event has closed with over Rs 15.2 trillion in MOUs signed. Data from the Directorate of Economics and Statistics shows that only 8% of commitments made during Modi's 11 years of Vibrant Gujarat summits turned into actual investment. One can expect the reality to be less rosy this time too. However, one of the encouraging things to see at the Make in India event was the participation of 17 states, several of whom jumped on the bandwagon at the last minute.
