As much as I used to hate Arnab Goswami's show (for one, it's stressful to hear what's being said in all the din), the two times I have heard or seen him in person, I have come to appreciate his line of thinking, even if I don't agree with the approach. In India, there is so much noise (in the media and in public discourse) that one has to SHOUT to even be heard. Also, there is a lot of drama, but there is intent to keep the establishment honest, which is an important role of the media as the 4th estate. Prannoy Roy did not have to shout when he was active as a host, and could create an impact with his balanced approach. Has nuance lost its value now? Does sensible debate and discussion have a place in today's India?
